ABOUT US
African Arts Academy is a San Francisco nonprofit performing arts and cultural education organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating the arts, music, fashion, gastronomy, and cultural heritage of Africa and the African Diaspora.
Founded by artist and cultural entrepreneur Fely Tchaco, the Academy creates programs, events, and community experiences that connect people to African creativity in meaningful ways. Through performance, education, storytelling, and cultural exchange, African Arts Academy helps keep heritage alive while inspiring new generations to learn, participate, and take pride in their roots.
Our work is rooted in cultural preservation, artistic excellence, community-building, and the belief that African traditions are not only part of history, they are living, evolving expressions of identity, knowledge, and belonging.
